Orem, Utah (11-3-12)—The SC State women's soccer team defeated Delaware State, 1-0, in the opening round of the 2012 Great West Conference (GWC) post-season tournament. The Lady Bulldogs will go on to face top seed and host Utah Valley University Sunday (Nov. 4) at 7 p.m. (MT) in the Semi-final round of the tournament , which concludes Monday, Nov. 5. Blanca Barrio scored SC State's lone goal in the 53rd minute to help the Lady Bulldogs avenge an earlier 1-2 loss to Delaware State. The Lady Bulldogs outshot Delaware State 21-10 including 6-1 on corner kicks.

This is the second straight season that SC State defeated Delaware State in the GWC postseason tournament to advance to the semi-final.
