Webb had a game-high 22 digs in loss
Box Score
Orangeburg, S.C. (10-26-12)—Junior Desire Waller put down a game high 29 kills as SC State fell to Florida A&M, 3-2 (26-24, 23-25, 19-25, 25-22, 10-15), in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) match-up.  The Lady Bulldogs had nine team blocks as they fell to 6-13 overall and 3-3 in the MEAC.

The tone for the contest was set early, as the two teams exchanged from the first serve.  After SC State captured the first set in extra points, 26-24, Florida A&M (8-9, 6-0 MEAC), went on to win the next two sets (25-23, 25-19), and appeared to have control of the match.  The Lady Bulldogs however would not hang their heads.  SC State used determination and tenacity to go on to capture set four, 25-22, and force a fifth and deciding set.  The Lady Bulldogs jumped out to an early 3-1 lead in the set but FAMU quickly put its offense to work.  The Lady Rattlers used a 3-0 run to tie game at 4-4.  FAMU pushed its lead to 7-4 and never looked as they went on to capture the fifth set, 15-10, and the match 3-2.

SC State had two players to record double-digit kills in the contest as Maya Bell had 15 to go along with Waller.  Bell recorded a double-double as she had 13 digs in the game.  E. Paige Webb picked up a game-high 22 digs and freshman Melanie Williams had 46 set assists in the loss.

Florida A&M had three players to record double-digit kills led by Maria Ceccarelli with 12.  Yeisha Arcia had 16 and Katherine Huanec had 15 kills in the contest. Diana Gonzales had a game-high 52 set assists while Karol Marquez had 19 digs in win.

The Lady Bulldogs will host Bethune-Cookman tomorrow, Sunday, Oct. 28 in a MEAC matchup.  First serve is set for 1 p.m. in Dukes Gymnasium.
