Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's volleyball went 1-1 in two Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) matches over the weekend.  On Friday (Oct. 12) the Lady Bulldogs defeated North Carolina A&T, 3-1, (25-21, 25-14, 19-25, 25-20), and on Sunday, (Oct. 14) SC State fell to North Carolina Central, 0-3, (13-25, 18-25, 16-25).

In the game versus North Carolina A&T, junior Desire Waller was the only player to record double-digit kills as she put down a game-high 21.  Waller recorded a double-double picking up 10 digs with coupled with two block assists in the match.  Freshman Melanie Williams put up a game-high 42 set assists and the lone senior E. Paige Webb picked up double-digit digs with 15.

Brooke Stamnes recorded a double-double 10 kills-10 digs and Te'Borah Hawkins put down 10 kills for NC A&T.  Ashley Johnson had 13 digs to lead the Lady Aggies defensively in the loss.

In Sunday's contest versus North Carolina Central, SC State could not get any offense as they hit a season low .098 for the game.  The Lady Bulldogs had no players in double-digit kills as Waller and freshman Shandice Sluch recorded six kills each to lead the way for SC State.  Williams and Webb recorded 21 set assists and 14 digs, respectively in the loss.

SC State, who is 6-10 overall and 3-2 in the MEAC, will travel to Charleston, S.C., on Tuesday, Oct. 16 to take on College of Charleston.  The Lady Bulldogs will then travel back to Charleston to face College of Charleston next Tuesday (Oct. 23) before returning home to host Florida A&M on Friday (Oct. 26).
