Orangeburg, S.C.—The SC State women's soccer team will host The Citadel, Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011 at the Oliver C. Dawson Stadium. Admission for the non-conference matchup is free and open to the public.
SC State enters the match with a 1-3-1 overall record after falling to Campbell 0-2, last Friday (Sept. 9). Kaitlyn Cortez currently leads the team in points with three (1 goal-1 assist).
Veronica Aguilar has two assists for two points for the Lady Bulldogs.
The Citadel comes into the contest with a 2-3 overall record. In their last outing (Wednesday, Sept. 12), the Bulldogs fell to Ole Miss, 1-6. Vanessa Aponte currently leads the team with three goals and two assists for eight points.
The Lady Bulldogs will go on a four-game road swing beginning this Friday, Sept. 16 when they travel to Lynchburg, Va. to take on Liberty University. SC State will then face UNC-Asheville (Sept. 18), Winthrop (Sept. 21) and Longwood (Sept. 25) before returning to Bulldog Stadium on Saturday, Oct. 1 when they host on the University of North Dakota.
