Clemson, S.C. (August 19, 2011) -- The SC State women's soccer team fell to Clemson, 1-7, in its opening match of the 2011 season.

Cassie Rodriguez scored the Lady Bulldogs only goal in the contest. “We could not match Clemson's intensity in any category,” said fourth year head coach Glad Bugariu. “Despite the loss, I have no doubt we will recover from this set back and return to winning ways soon enough.

SC State, who fell to 0-1 on the season, will return back to action next Friday, Aug. 26 when they travel to Itta Bena, Miss. to take on Mississippi Valley State. The Lady Bulldogs will then travel to Montgomery, Ala. to take on Alabama State (8/28) before opening its 2011 home season on Friday, Sept. 2 when they host Georgia Southern.
