JACKSONVILLE, FLA—The South Carolina State men's tennis team posted a 5-2 victory over a talented Jacksonville University team Saturday at Keith Watson Family Tennis Complex.

       Leading the way for the Bulldogs(2-1) was sophomore Peteris Vinogradous (Latvia) in singles defeating Larry Condez(7-6,6-2), and freshman Artemiy Nikitin (Russia) topping Matthew Hansen (6-4,6-4)to remain undefeated in singles action.

       Also, posting single victories for SC State were sophomore Anton Protsenko (Ukraine) defeating Logan Shmalmi (7-5, 6-3) and senior David Drund (Czech Republic) knocking off Lance Lvovsky 5-7, 6-3, 6-3.

       SC State earned the doubles point as well with Dmytro Kovalevych/Anton Protsenko def. Logan Shalmi/Matthew Hansen (8-5) and Artemiy Nikitin/David Grund def.Fernando Bano/Lance Lvovsky 8-5.

       The Bulldogs will return to action on Sunday, February 27, when they host Radford University of the Big South Conference at a 9 a.m. showdown at SCSU Tennis Courts. Admission is free to the public.
