SC State Men’s Tennis Team Hosts Georgia Southern In Non-Conference Matchup

ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's tennis team will host the Eagles of Georgia Southern in a 2 p.m. non-conference matchup Wednesday at SCSU Tennis Courts.
       The Bulldogs (0-1) the defending 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Champions will take a tough Georgia Southern team from the Southern Conference.
      Last timeout SC State dropped a tough 4-3 decision to Gardner-Webb on Jan.29 at home.
       South Carolina State was picked to win the 2011 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) southern divisional crowns voted on by the conference's head tennis coaches and sports information directors early this season.
      The Bulldogs are winners of the last six-of-seven league titles and concluded the 2010 season with a 2-1 MEAC mark and 14-10 record overall en route to their second consecutive MEAC crown.
      SC State returns four veteran players, such as All-MEAC performers and senior's Gabriel Mean (Spain), David Grund (Czech Republic), Radek Langer (Czech Republic) and the 2010 The Tournaments Most Outstanding Player Dmytro Kovalevch (UKrain).
       The men's tennis team will return to action on Feb.19, when they travel to Jacksonville, Fl. to take on Jacksonville University in a 1 p.m. matchup.
