SC State Set to Take on NC Central in a MEAC Volleyball Match

Durham, N.C.—The SC State women's volleyball team will take on North Carolina Central in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Sunday, Oct. 16.  First serve for the contest is set for 3 p.m. at the McClendon-McDougald gymnasium on the campus of SC State.

SC State enters the contest at 12-11 overall and 4-0 in the conference.  In their last outing, the Lady Bulldogs defeated North Carolina A&T, 3-0.  The Lady Bulldogs have won their last seven-of-nine contest including three straight.  SC State is led in kills and hitting by Desire Waller and Shabree Roberson who is averaging 3.69 and 2.60 kills per set, respectively.  Roberson is also leading the Lady Bulldogs in hitting and blocking averaging .335 and .98, respectively.

North Carolina Central enters the match at 2-20 overall and 2-2 in the MEAC after defeating Savannah State on Friday.  Dayanna Arrufat and Emanuelle Santos currently leads the team in kills averaging 2.45 and 2.39 kills per set.

The Lady Bulldogs will closeout its three-game road swing next Wednesday, Oct. 19 when they travel to Spartanburg, S.C. to face USC-Upstate.  The Lady Bulldogs will then return home for a non-conference matchup against Charleston Southern on Tuesday, Oct. 25.
