Houston, Texas—The SC State women's volleyball team cruised past Texas Southern, 3-0 (25-15, 25-19, 25-16), in a non-conference volleyball matchup at the H & PE Arena in Houston, Texas. With the victory the Lady Bulldogs improved to 14-21 while the Lady Tigers dropped to 5-18.
SC State used a balanced attack as they had two players to record double-digit kills led by senior
Jarne Gleaton who put down 13. Sophomore Paige Webb recorded a double-double, 10 kills-11 digs and freshman
Desire Waller recorded nine kills in the victory. Junior setter
Bria Brimmer continued to run an effective offense as she dished out a game-high 34 set assists.
Ashlee Cooper led the Lady Tigers with seven kills while Jyra Churchill had seven digs to lead the team defensively.
The Lady Bulldogs will close out its regular season Sunday, Nov. 14 when they face Prairie View A&M. SC State will travel to Baltimore, Maryland next weekend (Nov. 19-21) to participate in the 2010 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Tournament.
