ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State will host the two-day, 36-hole Bulldog Golf Classic Apr. 4-5 at the Hillcrest Golf Course. The event, following a practice round Friday, gets underway Saturday at 8 a.m. with 18 holes. The final 18-holes will begin Sunday at 8 a.m.
Eight teams, including SC State, will compete in the men's field, which will be without defending champion Bethune-Cookman. The women's field will have three teams.
Scheduled to join the host Bulldogs in the men's competition will be Florida A&M, Hampton, Houston Baptist, North Carolina Central, Saint Augustine's, Savannah State and Winston-Salem State.
Making up the women's field will be Hampton, Savannah State and host SC State.
Both SC State teams are coached by Herman Belton, who is in his first year as men's coach and his third as Lady Bulldog coach.
