SC State Falls to Coastal Carolina, 3-0, in Women’s Volleyball

Raises $478.11 In Support of Breast Cancer Awareness

Orangeburg, SC—The SC State women's volleyball team fell to Coastal Carolina, 0-3, (14-25, 19-25, 15-25), in a non-conference match-up in the Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center on the campus of South Carolina State. With the loss the Lady Bulldogs fall to 9-15 on the season while the Chanticleers improve to 13-9.

percentage of .034 in the match. The bright spot for the Lady Bulldogs was sophomore Lauren Harris who recorded 12 defensive digs. Red-shirt freshman Melissa Davis led the Lady Bulldogs in kills with five.
 
Coastal Carolina had three players to record double-digit kills led by Megan Bickford with 13. Chelsey Kimes contributed 12 kills and 14 digs and Jill Nyhof had 10 kills in the victory.  
 
SC State will return to action on Sunday, Oct. 25 when they travel to Greensboro, NC to take on the Lady Aggies of North Carolina A&T in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) match-up. The next home game for the Lady Bulldogs will be next Wednesday, Oct. 28 when they host Norfolk State in a MEAC match-up. First serve is set for Wednesday's game is set for 6 p.m. in Dukes Gymnasium on the campus of SC State.
 
Game Note: Tonight's game was designated as the Dig Pink game for SC State. The Lady Bulldogs raised $478.11 in support of the Breast Cancer Awareness.
