Orangeburg, SC—The SC State soccer team scored one goal in the first period and added another in the second period as the Lady Bulldogs defeated Coker College, 2-0, to pick up their first win of the 2008 season.
Senior Tereza Govrik scored SC State's (1-2-1) first goal of the game with just two seconds remaining in the first half (44:58) off a free kick to help the Lady Bulldogs enjoy a 1-0 advantage at the half.

SC State would need just over twenty minutes in the second half to pick up its second goal as Stacey Jackson scored at the 68:55 mark of the second half to give the Lady Bulldogs the 2-0 advantage over the Coker Cobras (1-4-0). SC State defense would hold the Cobras to just eight shots in the second half, thus securing the 2-0 win.
This victory marks the first win for SC State under first year head coach Glad Bugariu.
The Lady Bulldogs return back to action this Friday, Sept. 26 when they host High Point University at 7 p.m. in the Oliver C. Dawson Bulldog Stadium.
