Update: Services for former SC State Football Player Aaron Manigault Changed
ORANGEBURG, SC – Funeral services for former South Carolina State football player Aaron Manigault have been changed to Friday at 2 p.m. at the Bamberg-Ehrhardt High School Gymnasium. In an earlier announcement, the funeral was announced for Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
A viewing is scheduled for Thursday from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at Sharon Baptist Church of Augusta, Ga. off of Barton Chapel Road near the new Augusta Mall. The family will receive friends at 265 Sudlow Ridge Road in North Augusta.
Brightharp and Sons of North Augusta is in charge of arrangements.
Manigault died Sunday evening from wounds sustained in an automobile accident in Allendale County.
A Bamberg native, Manigault played fullback for the Bulldogs under Coach Willie Jeffries in the early nineties. He was a starter for SC State his final two seasons (1993 and 1994) and was a key performer on the 1994 team, which was 10-2 and defeated Grambling 31-17 in the Heritage Bowl in Atlanta.
A 1995 SC State graduate with a computer science degree, Manigault went on to a solid high-school coaching career and was an assistant at Allendale-Fairfax under Wayne Farmer when he died.
