SC State's Cacho to be featured on Golf Channel
Former Bulldog Golfer to be Highlighted Also

ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State freshman golfer Roberto Cacho will be among the featured athletes on the Golf Channel (Ch. 30 TWC) Thursday (Jul. 9) at 7:30 p.m. during the cable network’s broadcast of highlights of the 23rd PGA Minority College Golf Championship played May 8-10 at the PGA Golf Club in Port St. Lucie, Fla.
Cacho, a Moreles, Mexico native, won medalist honors at the event with a 54-hole total of (68-63-72) 203, 13-under par. He became the first Bulldog golfer in 18 years to capture medalist honors in the event. Former SC State golfer Martin Roache won individual honors in 1990 and 1991.
Tennessee State captured the team title in the event, while the Bulldogs finished in a tie for fifth.
Also, during the broadcast, former Bulldog golfer Rodney Green, one of four current teaching PGA Professionals who are SC State graduates, will be highlighted.
Green, a 1986 SC State alumnus, is presently Director of Golf at Innisbrook (Fla.) Resort and Golf Club.
