ORANGEBURG, SC – The SC State men’s golf team -- on one of the most difficult courses in the Low Country -- struggled to a sixth-place finish in the 6-team, 54-hole CSU Fall Invitational at the Crowfield Golf & Country Club (Oct. 19-20).

            The Bulldogs carded a 54-hole team total of (395-385-342) 1122 in the event, won by host Charleston Southern with a total of (307-295-297) 899.

            Sophomore Roberto Cacho fired a 54-hole total of (81-77-71) 229 for an 11th place finish to lead the Bulldogs. Senior Hector Arroyave tied for 30th in the field of 43 with a 54-hole total of (78-82-79) 239.

Cacho Earns Medalist Honors, Bulldogs Tie for 5th at PGA Minority Tourney

ORANGEBURG, SC – South Carolina State freshman Roberto Cacho, facing a tough course setup Sunday at the 23rd PGA National Minority Collegiate Golf Championship, managed only an even-par 72 Sunday, his higher round of the event, for a 54-hole total of (68-63-72) 203, but it was good enough for medalist honors in the men’s Division I standings.
