Bridget "BB" Williams joined the South Carolina State women's basketball coaching staff in 2026 as an assistant coach under head coach Cedric W. Baker.

Williams arrives in Orangeburg following seven successful seasons as an assistant coach at Benedict College, where she helped elevate the Tigers into one of the premier programs in the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC). During her tenure, Benedict captured SIAC championships in 2020 and 2022, earned a berth in the 2022 NCAA Division II Women's Basketball Tournament and won the 2026 Women's Black College Invitational championship.

A native of Andrews, South Carolina, Williams was a standout student-athlete at Andrews High School, earning All-Region, All-State and Most Valuable Player honors. She continued her academic and athletic career at Benedict College, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in recreation and leisure studies in 2012 and a Master of Science degree in sport management in 2023.

Widely recognized for her commitment to player development, Williams has helped mentor numerous award-winning student-athletes throughout her coaching career, including the 2026 SIAC Defensive Player of the Year, the 2019 and 2020 SIAC Players of the Year, and the 2019 and 2021 Women's Basketball Coaches Association Division II Honorable Mention All-Americans.

Dedicated to professional growth and leadership development, Williams completed the NCAA Basketball Coaches Academy in Indianapolis in 2025 and participated in the NCAA Next Generation Institute in Phoenix in 2026.

Williams credits her faith as a guiding force throughout her personal and professional journey, embracing the motto, "Trusting God's timing in every season."

Outside of basketball, she enjoys ice skating and spending time with family and friends.
