Kenneth Washington is in his second season as a volunteer assistant coach with the SC State Track and Field program. His primary responsibilities will be working with the jumpers and throwers.
 
Washington is no stranger to SC State and its track program. He was a standout athlete from 1991-1995 with the Bulldog track program. In his senior year he was the team captain. Washington earned many accolades during his time at Sate. He was a 1994 US Track & Field National Qualifier and Olympic Trials Qualifier in the high jump. He was a three-time NCAA Division I National Championship Qualifier, where he was a participant in 1994 and 1995, and a four-time All Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Performer.
 
Washington’s junior and senior outdoor seasons proved to be his best at State. In 1994 he was the MEAC Javelin Champion and in 1995 he was the Penn Relays Collegiate High Jump Champion. In those same years he earned the Most Valuable Field Athlete and was the Most Valuable Track & Field Athlete in 1995 at the university.
 
A native of Due West, SC Washington received his Bachelor of Science in criminal justice from State in 1995. He also holds a Corporate Team Leadership Instructor Certification which he earned in 2002.
