Please make sure that you go online to either enroll or waive out of the University’s Mandatory Health Insurance. The instructions for enrolling or waiving out are listed below. Also, there are some insurances that are
not accepted in our area by the providers. The following are the ones we know about at this time:
Kaiser
Out of state Medicaid
International insurance
If you have one of the above (
non-accepted) insurances, South Carolina State Sports Medicine cannot pay for health care services (doctor visits, labwork, x-ray, MRI, etc.). In order to get the appropriate care, you will have to pay out of pocket or go home to your in-network physician.

Read and Check the statement

You are now enrolling in your student health insurance”
Don’t forget to Print the confirmation page or copy/record your confirmation number.
After enrolling you can go back into the system, Click My Account, click Go to account. You will be prompted to provide your e-mail address and password previously used on the enrollment form. Then you will be allowed to print cards, update information, view claims, print claim forms, etc.

“You are now waiving the student insurance plan”
Complete the Online Waive Form
Don’t forget to Print your Confirmation Page or copy/record your Confirmation number.
You will receive several emails from the Insurance Carrier (AIG) regarding approved/denied.
(If denied, the email will provide an explanation and steps to be taken to get approved.)
Please follow e-Mail instructions to make any adjustments to waive.
With an approved waiver; the insurance fee will be “credited” to your account.
