Highly regarded as one of the first athletic trainers in school history…Served in the capacity for 18 years, including 16 (1974-89) as head trainer…Also handled equipment duties for several years…Implemented the Student Athletic Trainers Program at SC State…Served as head trainer at several Black College All-Star games, including the Freedom Bowl All-Star Classic and two National Black Championship contests – 1976 and 1981…MEAC Athletic trainer of the Year, 1977…Also was an assistant at several other post season contests in both football and basketball…In 1975 & ’76 participated in athletic trainer internships with the Cleveland Browns and the Miami Dolphins of the NFL…helped Fort Dorchester High School build a state of the art sports medicine program and facility, growing into one of the largest Sports Programs in the country… Also participated in football and track as an undergraduate at SC State, earning All-MEAC honors in track.
