ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's basketball team will take a break from Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play to host visiting Chicago State Saturday (Feb.10) inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Tipoff was originally scheduled for 4 p.m. but was changed to a 3 p.m. start.
South Carolina State (8-15 overall, 4-3 in MEAC) look to continue their winning ways after defeating Coppin State 77-65 Monday (Feb.5) at home.
Caleb McCarty led the way with a team-high 15 points, while teammate Micheal Teal added 14 points and six rebounds on the day.
The Bulldogs are led by
Davion Everett,
Mitchell Taylor and Dubinsky Wilson who averages a little over 8.3 points per game. Everett is the leader on the boards with 6.8 per contest.
Meanwhile, Chicago State (11-16 overall) is coming off an 60-65 defeat to Duquesne in their last outing. CSU was led by Jahsean Corbett with a game-high 21 points in the loss.
The Cougars are led in scoring by Wesley Cardet, Jr with 18.3 points and Corbett with 14.9 ppg.
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will resume MEAC play on the road in a two-game swing beginning at Norfolk State on Sat., Feb.17 at 4 p.m., followed by a showdown with Howard in the national capitol on Mon., Feb. 19 in a 7:30 p.m. start.
