ORANGEBURG, SC— The South Carolina State men's and women basketball teams will host Maryland Eastern Shore Monday (Feb.26) in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Tipoff for the women is 5:30 p.m., followed by the men in a 7:30 p.m. start immediately following the women's contest.
OCCASION: South Carolina State will host "Greek Night/Black Out" in the final home game of the season.
SERIES: On the men's side SC State leads the series 11-6, with the Bulldogs capturing a 63-53 win over the Hawks on 1/29/24 in Princess Anne, MD. Meanwhile on the women's side, the UMES leads the series 7-9 and have a four-game winning streak over the Lady bulldogs winning their last outing 45-63.
The Bulldogs (11-16 overall, 6-4 MEAC) look extend their winning ways after posting back-to-back league wins over Howard (75-68) and Delaware State (69-62). SCSU is currently in a three-way tie for second place in the conference race.
On the women's side, the Lady Bulldogs (2-23 overall 1-9 MEAC) snapped a 16-game losing skid this season with an impressive 69-61 win over visiting Delaware State on Saturday (Feb. 24).
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will close out the regular season on the road in a three-game MEAC swing beginning with Morgan State (Mar. 2), Coppin State (Mar. 4) and North Carolina Central (Mar. 7).
