WASHINGTON, DC—Morgan Beacham finished with a team-high 15 points and five (5) rebounds, while senior forward Jayah Hicks added 11 points and six (6) rebounds, but it wasn't enough as SC State dropped a tough 51-69 decision on the road at Howard Monday (Feb.19) inside Burr Gymnasium.

South Carolina State falls 1-23 overall, 0-9 in MEAC, while Howard improves to 9-14 overall, 6-3 in the league.

Despite a costly game-high 26 turnovers, SCSU led the way in rebounding 49-48 and points in the paint 22-20.

UP NEXT: South Carolina State will return back to action Saturday (Feb.24) at home versus Delaware State in a 2 p.m. start.
