ORANGEBURG, SC---The South Carolina State men's and women's basketball teams return Monday (Jan. 8) in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) doubleheader versus Howard inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Tip-off is 5:30 p.m. for the women, followed by a 7:30 p.m. start for the men.
Admission is free and open to the public.
The Lady Bulldogs (1-15 overall, 0-1 MEAC) look to bounce back after a disappointing 33-94 loss to top-ranked Norfolk State Saturday. Cassandra Colon finished with a team-high 10 points in the loss.
Meanwhile, the Lady Bison (3-12 overall, 0-1 MEAC) suffered a tough 76-79 overtime loss to NCCU on the road in their last outing. Iyanna Howard led the way with a game-high 26 points.
On the men's side the Bulldogs 4-13 overall, 0-1 MEAC dropped a 72-79 setback to the Spartans in league play at home. Freshman guard
Mitchell Taylor led the way with a team-high 12 points and four (4) rebounds.
Howard (5-11 overall, 0-1 MEAC) was knocked off by NC Central 54-73 on the road. Bryce Harris finished with 21 points, while Dom Campbell added 18.
