DOVER, DE—The South Carolina State women's basketball team will resume action this weekend in a pair of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) road contest beginning with Delaware State Saturday (Jan. 27). The series will conclude with Maryland-Eastern Shore on Monday (Jan.29).
SERIES: Tomorrows contest will be the series tie breaker between the two institutions. Although the series is tied at 10-10, SCSU fell short to the Hornets after dropping back-to-back games 49-58 in Orangeburg, SC (1/23/23) and 49-50 in Dover, DE (2/20/23).
The Lady Bulldogs (1-17 overall, 0-3) is seeking their first conference win after facing a setback to rival North Carolina Central (Jan. 20) in their last outing. Graduate guard
Jordan Releford led the way with a team-high 10 points and senior guard
Jayah Hicks grabbed seven boards.
Meanwhile, DSU enters the contest with at 5-11 overall, 1-2 record in the league play, while looking to bounce back after a recent 45-76 loss to UMES (Jan. 20).
NEXT UP: South Carolina State will conclude the two-game road swing at UMES on Jan. 29 in Princess Anne, MD. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m.
