Lady Bulldogs Suffer 61-75 Setback To NCCU

ORANGEBURG, SC---Taniya McGowan and Morgan Beacham each tossed in a game-high 11 points, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State suffered yet another Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) setback, 61-75, to visiting North Carolina Central Saturday (Jan.20) inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

South Carolina State falls to 1-17 overall, 0-3 in the MEAC, while NCCU improves to 8-10 overall, 2-1 in the league.

Jordan added 10 points, while Jayah Hicks grabbed a team-high seven (7) rebounds in the loss.

Despite the loss, the Lady Bulldogs led in several categories including Steals 13-10 and Second Chance Points 18-7.

NCCU posted two players in double figures with Morgan Callaham and Kyla Bryant each finishing with 11 points respectively in the win.

NEXT UP: South Carolina State hit the road for league play versus Delaware State on Jan. 27 in Dover, DE and UMES on Jan. 29 in Princess Anne, MD.
