ORANGEBURG, SC – The Defending MEAC Champion South Carolina State men's and women's tennis team were honored in a special presentation at the 2023 SC State Athletics Awards Ceremony, on Monday, May 1^st at the Fine Arts Building on the campus of South Carolina State University.

This year's theme was: Celebrating A Culture of Excellence in Athletics.

Coach Hardeep Judge was named MEAC Coach of the Year for both the Men and Women Tennis Teams, while also capturing his 17^th league title for the women and 18^th for the men in school history. During his 22 years at the helm of the tennis program, he has coached 32 of the 35 prestigious Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Championships.

Student-athletes were also inducted into 2023 Chi Alpha Sigma, National Scholar-Athlete Society to honor those four-year collegiate student-athletes who have excelled in both the classroom and in athletic competition.

Chi Alpha Sigma recognizes undergraduate college student-athletes who participate in sports on the varsity intercollegiate level, achieve junior academic standing or higher after a fifth full-time semester, and earn a 3.4 or higher cumulative grade point average.
