Eagles Soar Over Lady Bulldogs At Home

ORANGEBURG, SC- Marissa Gasaway grabbed a game-high 17 rebounds, while tossing in nine (9) points to lead Winthrop to an 54-45 win over host South Carolina State Saturday (Nov. 18) in women's basketball action inside Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

South Carolina State falls to 0-4 on the season, while Winthrop improves to 2-2.

Despite both team costly errors, SCSU finished with a game-high 22 turnovers, while the Eagles managed 20.

Morgan Beacham led the way for SC State with eight (8) points, five (5) rebounds and two (2) steals, while Rakyha Reid added a team-high 10 rebounds and four (4) points in the loss.  Janiah Hiton chipped in nine (9).

UP NEXT: South Carolina State will travel to Spartanburg, SC on Nov. 20th for a 6:30 PM contest versus USC-Upstate.
