DOVER, DE—South Carolina State (2-4 overall, 0-0 MEAC) returns to action Saturday (Oct. 20^th) on the road in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) opener versus Delaware State (1-5 overall.0-0 MEAC) at Alumni Stadium. Kickoff is set for 12 noon.

In their last outing South Carolina State dropped a tough 28-7 setback to Tennessee Tech at home, Oct. 14^th at O.C. Dawson Stadium. Redshirt junior linebacker Aaron Smith spearheaded the defense with 12 tackles, one sack and 1.5 tackles for loss, while Jamare Benjamin added eight (8) tackles in the loss.
 
Bulldog Note: First-year student running back Jawarn Howell was named MEAC Rookie of the Week. Howell finished with three catches for 93-yards, including one touchdown and had nine (9) catches for 34-yards in the loss to Tennessee Tech.
 
A look at Delaware State the Hornets is looking to post their first league win of the season against the Bulldogs. In their last outing DSU fell short in an 44-51 loss to Central Connecticut State University.
 
Marqui Adams finished with a team-high 16-of-28 for 301 yards and three touchdowns for Delaware State.
 
NEXT UP: SC State will have a quick turnaround when they take on defending MEAC Champion North Carolina Central on Thursday (Oct. 26^th) live on ESPNU. Kickoff is 7:30 p.m. in Durham, NC.
