T.J. Madlock scored a game-high 18 points, seven (7) assist, and grabbed four rebounds, while teammate
Rahsaan Edwards added 17 points and five (5) assist to lead South Carolina State to an 70-63 win over Maryland-Eastern Shore in MEAC play Saturday (Feb.19
th) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Madlock had a solid day from the field finishing 6-of-9 in the field and 6-of-6 from the charity stripe in the win in 37 minutes of play. Freshmen forward
Jemal Davis added 14 points in the win.
South Carolina State dominated in every category in points in the paint (34-22), points off turnovers (15-11), second chance points (12-12), bench points (15-15) and rebounding (36-29).
Maryland-Eastern Shore's Kevon Voyles finished with a team-high 15 points, while Chace Davis added 12 in the loss.
South Carolina State improves to 14-12 overall, 6-4 in the MEAC, while UMES falls to 8-13 overall, 3-7 in the league.
UP Next for SC State
South Carolina State will close out the regular season home finale Monday (Feb. 21
st) when they host visit Delaware State at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m. for the women and 7:30 p.m. for the men.
