Lady Bulldogs Drop Tough Setback To Norfolk State

ORANGEBURG, SC—Freshman guard Nicole Gwynn tossed in 10 points along with six (6) rebounds, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State dropped its first league contest, 60-40, to top-ranked Norfolk State Saturday (Jan. 29th) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.

Trinity Klock added a team-high 10 rebounds, and eight rebounds in the loss. The Lady Bulldogs fall to 3-1 in the league, 3-15 overall, while NSU improves to 8-7 overall, 4-0 in the MEAC.

Despite the loss, SCSU won the battle of the boards with an 48-39 advantage, while shooting 87.5% from the charity stripe on the day.

UP Next for SC State
South Carolina State will return back to the court on Monday (Jan. 31st) in a league showdown with visiting Howard, with the women beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men in a 7:30 p.m. start..
