ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State women's basketball team will open Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play Saturday (Jan.15^th) at home versus the visiting Eagles of North Carolina Central in an , 2 p.m. start.

LAST TIME OUT

• The Lady Bulldogs will take the court for the first time since Dec. 29^th, when they suffered an 32-47 defeat to Furman at home. All-MEAC performer Trinity Klock finished with 11 points and six rebounds in the loss.
• Meanwhile, NCCU dropped and 70-80 decision to Norfolk State on Jan. 10^th in their league opener. Diamond Thomas led the way with 18 points for the Eagles.

 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS

• The Lady Bulldogs enters the contest seeking their first win of the season after a rough start due to injuries.
• Trinity Klock, a preseason All-MEAC second team selection is the leader for the Bulldogs averaging 9.5 points, 7.5 boards and 1.67 blocks per game
• Freshman guard Nicole Gwynn averages 11.5 points and 4.5 boards

• NCCU leads the series 7-9 in their last 16 meetings.
• The Eagles won the last meeting 49-55 in Orangeburg, SC over the Lady Bulldogs on Feb 29^th, 2020

South Carolina State will continue MEAC play on the road versus UMES Saturday (Jan.22) in Princess Anne, MD at 2 p.m., followed by a trip to Dover, DE against Delaware State Monday (Jan.24^th) at 5:30 p.m.
