ORANGEBURG, SC—Four Bulldogs scored double-figures, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State dropped a tough, 88-81, tough overtime loss to Morgan State Monday (Jan.10
th) in Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference(MEAC) play at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Sophomore
Omar Croskey led the way with a team-high 19 point and six rebounds, while freshman forward
Jemal Davis added 18 points in five boards. Teammates TJ Madlock finished with 13 points and eight rebounds and graduate forward Deaquan Davis added the teams only double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds in the loss.
SC State finished strong in several categories including second chance points (21-9), points off turnovers (31-11), points in the paint (44-26) and fast break points (14-9). Bulldogs dominated on the boards leading the way 47-39.
Free-throws down the stretched seemed to be the deciding factor as the Bulldogs shot 15-of-23 (65.2%) on the evening.
Next up South Carolina State returns to conference play on Saturday (Jan.15
th) when they host North Carolina Central in a 4 p.m. start at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
