ALABAMA STATE HORNETS
MONTGOMERY, AL—South Carolina State will return to action on Saturday (April 3
rd) for the first time since a March 13 victory over Delaware State, when they travel to Montgomery to take on Alabama State in a non-conference matchup at ASU Stadium.

This will be just the third and second game against a SWAC opponent this spring, after a season opening loss to Alabama A&M last month.

Senior linebacker Chad Gilchrist led the way on defense with a team-high 10 tackles, while teammates
Darrell Brown and Shaheem Haltiwanger added 7 each.
Meanwhile, Alabama State is coming off a no-contest decision against the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. The game was called off due to inclement weather in Arkansas. Two weeks ago, the Hornets put together a 35-28 win oveer previously unbeaten Jackson State University.
