CHARLESTON, SC—The South Carolina State men's tennis team open up the 2021 spring season in dominating fashion on Saturday (March 6^th) posting a 7-0 shutout win over The Citadel at the Earle Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs (1-0) captured the doubles point early on with 8-7, 8-5 and 8-7 wins.

In single actions, it was Aleksa Daskalovic def. Will Graham 6-2, 7-5 at the No.1 spot; Marcelo Rodriguez def. Josiah Schainblatt 6-3, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot; E. Marouani def. Hayden Shoemake 6-3, 6-0 at the No.3 spot and Omer Gorgun def. Phillip Quinn 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 at the No.4 spot.

E. Momo and L. Stevanovic earned single victories at the No. 5 and 6 spots respectively.

Next up South Carolina State returns to action on the road against Campbell University in a non-conference matchup in Buies Creek, NC. First serve is 2 p.m.
