ORANGEBURG, SC—Redshirt sophomore quarterback
Corey Fields, Jr. bounced back from a two-game slump, throwing 19-of-44 for 258-yards and three (3) touchdowns to lead the Bulldogs to a thrilling, 37-14, victory over Morgan State Saturday (Oct.16
th) at Oliver C. Dawson Stadium.
Shaquan Davis led the way receiving with three (3) catches for 85-yards and a touchdown, while
Richard Bailey added five (5) for 79-yards and a touchdown in the win.
Defensively, the Bulldogs were led by
BJ Davis with seven (7) tackles, two (2) tackles for loss and a sack, while Chad Glichrist (1 TFL, 1FF),
Tim Ewing (1 FR, 1 INT) and
Patrick Godbolt (3 TFL, 1 FF, 1 FR, 1 PBU, 1 BLK, 2 QU) added five (5) tackles respectively.
Next up South Carolina State returns to action on Saturday (Oct. 23
rd) in a conference matchup on the road versus Delaware State in Dover, DE.
