ORANGEBURG, SC—Senior All-MEAC forward
Damani Applewhite led the way with a game-high 21 points and six rebounds, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State fell short 82-83 in double overtime to defending MEAC Champion North Carolina Central Saturday (Feb. 29
th) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
South Carolina State celebrated COMING HOME 2020 along with "Senior Day" honoring eight (8) student-athletes in a pregame ceremony.

Trushaun Moorer was the spark off the bench that came the Bulldogs alive finishing with a season-high 15 points connecting 3-of-6 from behind the arc.
Ian Kinard added 12 and Zach Sellers chipped in 11 in the loss.
Despite the loss, SC State led in several categories including rebounds (31-30), while forcing NCCU to a game-high 21 turnovers on the day.
Next up South Carolina State will host N.C. A&T State in a regular season finale Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference doubleheader Monday (March. 2
nd), beginning with the women in a 5:30 p.m. contest, followed by the men in a 7:30 p.m. start.
