ORANGEBURG, SC – The South Carolina State men's and women's track and field teams combined for nine top 10 finishes at the Carolina Challenge hosted by the University of South Carolina Friday Feb. 1-2.

Jerod Wims were Edisto High product and junior Daniel Seawright, who had the second-best showing in the 60 meters with a time of 6.84, and freshman Dayani Johnson, who was second in the triple jump with a leap of 13.39m (43-11.25 ft.). Senior Ars'Breana Tyler was third in the long jump with a leap of 5.62m (18-05.25ft) and fourth in the triple jump with a mark of 11.76m (38-07.00 ft.).
Others earning top 10 showings were Sophomore Treyon Bryan, sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 14.75m (48-04.75 ft.), Waddell Rembert-Jett, seventh in the 60 meters with a time of 6.93, Darrell Singleton, eighth in the 200 meters in a time 21.73, Dwayne Curnell, 10
th in the 60 meters with a clocking of 6.96, Seawright, 10
th in the long jump with a leap of 6.92 meters, and the 4x400-meter relay team, eighth, with a 3:15.87 clocking.
