ORANGEBURG, S.C. – Junior guard's 
Rayshawn Neal and 
Tariq Simmons posted 17 points respectively, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State fell short, 78-72, to visiting Morgan State Monday (Feb. 17
th) at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
 
All-MEAC senior forward 
Damani Applewhite added 10 points, nine rebounds and three blocks, while Neal finished with six assists and Simmons six rebounds in the loss.
 
The Bulldogs and Bears battled throughout with nine (9) ties and six (6) lead changes.
 
Morgan State was led by Malik Miller with 14 points.
 
South Carolina State falls to 11-13, 6-6 in the MEAC, while Morgan State improves 14-14 overall, 8-5 in the league.
 
Next up South Carolina State hits the road for a two-game 
MEAC swing in the sunshine state beginning with 
Bethune-Cookman on Saturday (Feb. 22) with the women beginning at 2 p.m., followed by the men in a 4 p.m. start.
