ORANGEBURG, SC—South Carolina State basketball teams return to action on Monday (Feb. 17
th) when they host visiting Morgan State in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) doubleheader at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Tip-off for the women is 5:30 p.m., followed by the men in a 7:30 p.m. start.
LAST TIMEOUT: The Lady Bulldogs dropped a tough 61-42 decision to Coppin State on Saturday (Feb. 15
th). Junior guard
Jacquece Alston led the way with a team-high 11 points. Meanwhile, the Bulldogs look to extend their winning streak to three-straight after knocking off the Eagles 70-66. Junior guard
Rayshawn Neal tossed in a team-high 21 points in the win.
VERSUS MORGAN STATE: The Lady Bulldogs look to avenge and early season 47-77 loss to the Lady Bears on Jan. 16
th in Baltimore, MD. Alston finished with 11 points on the day. The Bulldogs hope to even things up after dropping an 63-77 setback to the Bears early in the season. All-MEAC forward
Damani Applewhite finished with 17 points in the loss.
Next up South Carolina State hits the road for a two-game MEAC swing in the sunshine state beginning with Bethune-Cookman on Saturday (Feb. 22) with the women beginning at 2 p.m., followed by the men in a 4 p.m. start.
