ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's and women's basketball teams return to action on Saturday (Feb. 15
th) versus MEAC foe Coppin State at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Tip-off for the women is 2 p.m., followed by the men in a 4 p.m. start.
OCCASION: South Carolina State will celebrate "Think Pink Game" Breast Cancer Awareness.
LAST TIMEOUT: The Lady Bulldogs (3-19 overall, 2-8 MEAC) dropped a tough 76-64 defeat to Delaware State, while the Bulldogs (10-12 overall, 10-10 MEAC) knocked off the Hornets 100-86 in league play. Junior guard Heniyah Moton led the way for the women with 25 points, while senior forward
Damani Applewhite led the men with a game-high 24.
Meanwhile, Coppin State (8-18 overall, 4-7 MEAC) won in overtime 68-67 over Maryland Eastern Shore on the men's side. The Lady Eagles (1-22 overall, 1-10 MEAC) posted their first win of the season in a 66-63 win over the Lady Hawks.
Next up South Carolina State will host Morgan State in an pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference showdown at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tip-off is 5:30 p.m. for the women, followed by the men in a 7:30 p.m. start.
