Tariq Simmons added 12, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State dropped an 73-56 decision to NC Central Saturday (Feb. 1
st) at McDougald-McClendon Arena.
The Bulldogs (9-11 overall, 4-4 MEAC) produced a lofty shooting day completing 18-of-47 (38.3%) from the field, while the Eagles (9-12 overall, 5-2 MEAC) managed 29-of-56 (51.8%).
Despite the loss, SC State led the way in rebounds (33-32) and bench points (28-28).
The Eagles were led by C.J. Keyser with 23 point, while teammate Jibri Blount added 10.
The Bulldogs will remain in the Tar Hill State for a league doubleheader against North Carolina A&T Monday, beginning at 7:30 p.m.
