BALTIMORE, MD—The South Carolina State men's basketball team return to Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) play Monday (Jan. 6
th) versus Morgan State at Hill Field House. Tip-off for the men's is set for 7:30 p.m.
SETTING THE STAGE: The Bulldogs (6-7 overall, 1-0 MEAC) are coming off an impressive 79-75 comeback win against Coppin State on Saturday. Senior forward
Damani Applewhite finished with18 second-half points, while
Ian Kinard added in the win.
Morgan State (7-9 overall, 1-0 MEAC) posted five players in double-figures to lead the Bears to a dominating 81-68 win over Delaware State at Memorial Hall. Senior forward David Syfax, Isaiah Burk, Sherwyn Devonish-Prince scored 15 points each in the victory.
RILEY CHASIN'1000: Graduate forward
Tashombe Riley needs just 83 points to reach 1,000 points for his career at South Carolina State.
BULLDOG BITE: Applewhite leads the way in scoring with 13.2 points and 6.7 rebounds per outing. Riley is second on the team at 9.6 ppg and 3.8 boards.
THE BEARS ROAR: Morgan State is led by Stanley Davis with 13.8 points and 5.8 rebounds, while teammate Sherwyn Devonish with 11.1 points and Troy Baxter at 10.7 points and 5.9 rebounds per game.
