NORFOLK, VA—Two Lady Bulldogs posted double-figures, but it wasn't enough as South Carolina State suffered an, 42-76, setback to top-ranked Norfolk State Saturday (Jan. 25
th) at Echols Hall.
Junior forward
Jayah Hicks led the way with a team-high 11 points and nine rebounds, while
Jacquece Alston added 10 points and nine rebounds. Sophomore guard
Zeleria Simpson added nine points in the loss.
The Lady Bulldogs fall to 2-4 in league play, while NSU improves to 5-0 and remains in sole position of the top of the standings.
Next up South Carolina State will host Bethune-Cookman Monday (Jan. 27
th) in a pivotal Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) doubleheader with the women beginning at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men in a 7:30 p.m. start.
