ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's and women's return to action on Saturday (Jan. 18^th) when they host visiting Florida A&M at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center. Tip-off for the women's game is 2 p.m., followed by the men's contest in a 4 p.m. start.

SPECIAL PRESENTATION: MEAC Commissioner Dr. Dennis Thomas will present the 2019 MEAC Football Championship trophy to the SC State Football Team at half-time of the men's game. The Bulldogs captured a share of the crown after finishing 8-3 overall, 6-2 in the league.

The Lady Bulldogs (2-13 overall, 1-2 MEAC) look to turn things around after road games versus Coppin State (71-60/OT), Morgan State (47-77) and Howard (47-78) in their last outing. Junior guard Heniaya Moton leads the way in scoring with 11.2 points per game.

On the men's side, the Bulldogs (7-8 overall, 2-1 MEAC) continue to stay in the mix of things after going 2-1 on the road in their last three contest against Coppin State (79-75), Morgan State (63-77) and Howard (101-95/OT). Preseason All-MEAC forward Damani Applewhite leads the way with 13.7 points and 6.9 rebounds.

RILEY ON THE WAY: Graduate forward Tashombe Riley needs just 47 points (953) to reach the 1,000-point plateau in his playing career.

Next up South Carolina State will host Maryland Eastern Shore on Monday (Jan. 20^th) in an MEAC Doubleheader beginning with the women's contest at 5:30 p.m., followed by the men's at 7:30 p.m.
