Bulldogs Square Off Against South Florida Saturday

TAMPA, Fla—The South Carolina State Bulldogs could pull one of the biggest upset in school history Saturday (Sept. 14th) when they host South Florida at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa.

The game will be televised live on ESPN3 with an 6:05 p.m. (EST) kickoff.

South Carolina State 2-0 is off to its best start since 2009 posted impressive wins of nationally ranked 8th Wofford (28-13) and Lane College (34-0).

USF look to turn things around after an 0-2 start with tough losses to No.17/19 Wisconsin (49-0) and Georgia Tech (10-14).

    *USF head coach Charlie Strong and South Carolina State head coach Buddy Pough coached together as assistants at South Carolina.  Pough has 127 career wins, two off the South Carolina State record.
    *The Bulls rank third nationally in tackles for loss at 12.0 per game.
    *Three NFL Hall of Famers played their college ball at South Carolina State - Harry Carson, Marion Motley, and Deacon Jones.
    *Several Bulldogs have earned MEAC Players of the Week honors this season with redshirt linebacker BJ Davis (Defensive POW) and senior offensive lineman Alex Taylor (Lineman of the Week) in WEEK # 1.  Taylor also earned his second MEAC Lineman of the Week honors, along with junior defensive lineman Rod Perry being named Defensive POW and sophomore Dillon Bredesen Special Teams POW in WEEK #2 respectfully.
