MEAC MBB TOURNAMENT BRACKET
NORFOLK, VA—The No. 9 seed South Carolina State Bulldogs will take on the No. 8 seed Maryland Eastern Shore Hawks Tuesday (March 12
th), at 6 p.m. in the first round of the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) Basketball Tournament held at the Scope Arena in Norfolk, VA.
The MEAC tournament will take place from March 11
th -16
th. The winner of this game will advance to the next round to take on top-ranked Norfolk State in the quarterfinals Wednesday (March. 13
th) at 6 p.m.
The last time the two teams met during the regular season the Hawks defeated the Bulldogs, 61-63, in Princess Anne, MD. Second Team All-MEAC forward
Damani Applewhite finished with a team-high 11 points and nine rebounds in the loss.
South Carolina State led in several categories including second chance points 15-9, bench points 25-11, rebounding 36-31, while forcing UMES to a team-high 15 turnovers.
Applewhite leads the Bulldogs in scoring and rebounding with 16.9 points and 7.3 rebounds, while UMES is led by Ryan Andino with 10.3 points per outing.
