ORANGEBURG, SC—The South Carolina State men's and women's basketball team will host Morgan State in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC) showdown at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
Tipoff for the women's contest is 2 p.m., followed by the men in a 4 p.m. start.
Meanwhile in their lasting meeting, the Bulldogs knocked off Morgan State 72-68 on Jan. 12
th in Baltimore, MD. Junior guard
Jahmari Etienne tossed in a team-high 18 points, while teammate junior forward
Ian Kinard chipped in 15 points in the win.
Morgan State (8-15 overall, 3-6 MEAC) is led by Stanley Davis, Jr. with 11.5 points and 6.3 rebounds, while teammate Sherwyn Devonish adds 11.1 per outing.
On the women's side, the Lady Bulldogs suffered and 51-62 defeat to Morgan State in their last meeting. Junior forward
Taylor Brown recorded and double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds to lead the way for SC State.
MSU (7-16 overall, 5-4 MEAC) women are led by Adre'onia Coleman with 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds, while Ashia McCalia adds 9.5 points and 4.5 rebounds.
South Carolina State returns to action on Monday (Feb. 11
th) when they host Coppin State in a pivotal MEAC doubleheader in Orangeburg, SC. Tipoff for the women is 5:30 p.m., followed by the men in a 7:30 p.m. start.
