BALTIMORE, MD—Junior guard Jahmari Etienne tossed in a team-high 18 points, while teammate junior forward Ian Kinard chipped in 15 points and five rebounds to South Carolina State to an , 72-68, victory over Morgan State Saturday (Jan.12^th ) at Hill Field House.

"Road wins don't come easy and the win tonight is a testament to our guy's perseverance and sticking together during a tough stretch of our season," said SC State head coach Murray Garvin."

"I give the credit to my coaching staff on preparing the guys for a physical game against a well-coached Morgan State team, "Garvin said. " I also want to thank all of our supporters who turned out in big numbers and had a strong presence in the building. We will enjoy this for a night and move on to Coppin Monday."

Senior point guard Janai Raynor-Powell added 14 points, four rebounds and three assists, while guard junior guard Lavar Harewood chips in 10 points and five boards for the win.

 Next up South Carolina State close out a two-game road swing when they take on Coppin State  Monday (Jan.14^th ) in a 5:30 p.m. doubleheader beginning with the women 5:30 p.m., followed by the men in a 7:30 p.m.m, start.
