ORANGBURG, SC – The South Carolina State women will close out their non-conference schedule Saturday when they travel to Cullowhee, NC for a 2:30 p.m. matchup with Western Carolina.
The Lady Bulldogs, who are returning to action after a holiday break, are 6-7 on the season. Coach
Audra Smith's team last saw action on Dec. 21 in a 71-63 loss to East Carolina at the Carolinas Basketball Challenge at Myrtle Beach.
The Catamounts, 3-9 on the season, also last saw action Dec. 21 in a 65-57 road win at Winthrop.
The two teams are meeting for the third time in a series that is tied at 1-1.
The Lady Bulldogs begin Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play Saturday, Jan. 5, against North Carolina A&T -- the defending league champion – in a doubleheader beginning at 2 p.m. at Smith-Hammond-Middleton Memorial Center.
