TULSA, Okla. — The South Carolina State Men's Basketball Team return to action when they travel to Oklahoma to take on the University of Tulsa in a non-conference matchup Saturday at the Donald W. Reynolds Center.

THE SERIES: Tulsa and South Carolina State will meet for the first time.
LAST TIMEOUT: Meanwhile, the Bulldogs (1-0) defeated Brevard College, 99-51, on Tuesday night in its season opener. Forward Damani Applewhite led the way with 19 points, while Janai Raynor-Powell went 4-for-4 behind the arc on his way to 17 points off the bench.
BULLDOG BITES: South Carolina State welcomes back nine (9) letter winners and adds five (5) newcomers to bolster the roster this season. Preseason All-MEAC forward Damani Applewhite returns to head up the frontcourt, while senior point guard Janai Raynor-Powell controls the temp in the backcourt during the game.
*The Bulldogs were recently picked 10
th in the MEAC Preseason poll by the leagues head coaches and sports information directors.

Murray Garvin was awarded the 2018 Guardians of the Game Award for Education presented by TallOrder.com from the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC), at the Final Four in San Antonio, TX. Garvin was honored for his efforts, through his foundation, Garvin's Goals, with the motto of "Lifting as We Climb", where he worked in the Orangeburg community to conduct an annual Back to School Bash giving away over 300 backpacks and school supplies to kids in the community.
A LOOK AT TULSA: The Hurricanes are fresh off a 73-56 win over Alcorn State on Tuesday night. Tulsa was led by senior Sterling Taplin with a team-high 16 points. TU defense forced the Braves to a game-high 19 turnovers. Tulsa was picked to finish ninth in The American Preseason Poll.
